About Us
Faith Ottawa is a worshipping, learning, witnessing and serving community of baptized persons among whom the Word is proclaimed and the Sacraments are administered according to the Gospel.
We are a small, friendly and diverse congregation, dedicated to serving our church family, our community, and those in need around the world.
Visitors and new members are always welcome, there is a place here for everyone. God’s grace and unconditional love calls us to be a diverse, inclusive community that celebrates all and upholds life-giving relationships. We respect all of God's creation, and serve all of God's people.
We gather each Sunday at 10am for worship - celebrating God’s abiding presence, listening to the Word of God in Scripture and preaching, receiving the Sacraments, and responding with confession, prayer, praise, thanksgiving, and and offerings.
We are part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, (ELCIC) whose mission is an expression of the universal Church and as an instrument of the Holy Spirit, is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with people in Canada and around the world through proclamation of the Word, celebration of the sacraments, and through service in Christ’s name. Our national bishop is Rev. Susan C. Johnson, the first woman to hold the title of National Bishop within the ELCIC. First elected in 2007, she has been re-elected and is now serving her fourth term in office.
We are also part of the Eastern Synod, one of five synods of the ELCIC. The Eastern Synod values diversity, equity and inclusion in everything we do, and is committed to a positive, supportive and inclusive environment. We strive to be a community that welcomes and celebrates all people. This includes members of groups with historical and/or current barriers to equity including, but not limited to, visible minorities (racialized), Indigenous Peoples, women, persons with disabilities, and persons of any gender identity and sexual orientation.
