Potluck supper – bring a dish to share.
Theme – A Place to Call Home – bring a photo or picture of a home that has special meaning for you. We’ll share stories about these homes, and then hear from our guest speaker Sahada Alolo about the work of the Multifaith Housing Initiative in Ottawa.
Drop by the church, in person, to receive ashes on your forehead, between 7 and 8pm.
We wear ashes to affirm the faith that God’s love, grace, and presence is with us despite and especially because of our broken humanity and our mortality. God does not love you because you are without sin, blemish or because you somehow prove your righteousness by your efforts alone. God doesn’t love you because you are good. God loves you because God is good.
When you stop by briefly, you will receive a blessing, a word of encouragement and the ashes on your forehead. And, if you come in person, you will receive a special gift to take home and ‘grow’ during the season of Lent (Hint: The word ‘lent’ means ‘springtime’). Please wear your mask and be mindful of physical spacing between you and others in line.
