Dear members and friends of Faith,
Worship this Advent and Christmas season will look and feel quite different from years past. This change will be challenging for us who normally associate Christmas with holding lighted candles and singing carols at the top of our lungs, shoulder-to-shoulder, in a packed room of the faithful.
At the same time, we will still celebrate and give thanks for God’s gift in Jesus Christ. The Council met recently and decided that all our worship in December will be online. Please monitor your emails forthcoming from the church to indicate all the options that will be available, such as “A live Communion” service each Sunday at 10am (via Zoom) and the regular pre-recorded services every week. Stay tuned to hear more details about the special services for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Because we will not meet in the building to worship doesn’t mean we have to be socially distant, or soul distant. Members of the congregation continue to keep in contact over the phone, through letters and video calls. Don’t just keep the faith, spread the faith with words of encouragement and thanksgiving for God entering this dark world.
My hope is that each of us can still feel the loving presence of Christ, the light of the world, who comes despite COVID. In our prayers, may the warmth of Jesus’ presence fill our hearts in the coming weeks.
